  1. The entire score has a brassy quality that makes me want to dance along with the characters. It has a very upbeat and lively essence. The first half of the show gives feeling of fun and young love. The climax of the musical takes a turn for the more serious ballads to give the characters depth and to slow it down a bit before the big finish!

  2. Just a quick thing, the London Cast Recording isn't allowing me to listen to it. I'll use Spotify, but just thought you should know.

  5. This show reminds me of Guys and Dolls. Very brassy like Landon said. I watched the entire show on youtube, pretty sure it was a high school performance. Regardless I enjoyed it! You see city slickers then cowboys, I like how the story moves quickly. The music is fast. The overture was short and the music during scene changes were repetitive and fast making me feel like I was watching a race. Great show!

  6. This show was very lively and energetic and fun to listen to. I enjoyed following the characters in their crazy ways and was of course happy when they were reunited. I liked how some songs included parts of other songs to show a connection between characters. The quick pace made it seem even more hectic and added to the excitement.

  7. The show has a lot of classical musical theatre qualities, but sees the importance of incorporating modern musical theatre innovations.

"I Got Rhythm".... how has no one mentioned this song yet?! This is probably my favorite moment of the entire show. The song is exuberant and contains time for singers to display their vocal abilities, and dancers to show off their skills. We can literally hear them dancing in the Spotify recording! How exciting!

Bottomline, this show is extremely enjoyable.

  9. The score made me want to get up and dance which I may or may not have done. I really enjoyed the tone of Slap That Bass and I've got Rhythm the most. I think that the entire score helps tell a story and it made me want to read Crazy for You and possibly do it in the future.

  12. I really enjoyed listening to this musical. I have not had the opportunity to see a production of this show, but after listening to this soundtrack I feel like I have. There was a lot of variety in the music. It does a good job of telling a story through the music.

  13. I really like that the music in "Crazy for You" has a light-hearted, quirky vibe. It is very reminiscent of a classic romantic musical, which is to be expected since it's the Gershwin's music. I especially like "Bidin' My Time" - the trio of men's voices in really pretty!

  14. This show is Classic Broadway, it is fun to listen to because it has the sound of a different era, I really enjoyed "I got Rythm" the most I think, it was just a fun song to listen to with its intricate rthym (heh heh...pun unintended)

  16. I already heard about this song 'I got Rhythm' before, but I did not know it was one of the scores of the musical 'Crazy for You'. Fast, rhythmic beat, cheerful voice, and bright melody absolutely showed that the actors really seem to 'get rhythm'. Not only the cheerful melodies, I love the lyrics as well.
